Merseyside postcodes where house prices are falling the fastest

Housing prices have started to decrease after a massive hike during the pandemic, according to the latest findings by Property Solvers.

Merseyside experienced a mini housing boom after the first lockdown, with demand driving up house prices in some areas.

But since restrictions relaxed new data compiled by Property Solvers shows prices have plummeted in some areas of Liverpool over the last year.

A total of 4,035 property transaction s were traced in the past year based on the Rightmove asking prices and their actual sold prices.

Among the postcodes with the highest drop in prices include Mossley Hill in L18 and Formby in L37.

Here we take a look at the areas where house prices have fallen the most.

Mossley Hill - L18

With 45 properties sold in the area, the average asking price over the past year stood at £359,910.

The average price properties were sold for in the past year was £343,812, meaning there was a -£16,098 difference.

This saw the average price decrease by 4.58%.

Formby - L37

With 72 properties sold in the area, the average asking price over the past year stood at £351,587.

The average price properties were sold for in the past year was £337,778 meaning there was a -£13,809 difference.

This saw the average price decrease by 4.01%.

Ormskirk - L39

With 13 properties sold in the area, the average asking price over the past year stood at £257,688.

The average price properties were sold for in the past year was £246,573 meaning there was a -£11,115 difference.

This saw the average price decrease by 4.41%.

Waterloo - L22

With 50 properties sold in the area, the average asking price over the past year stood at £310,880.

The average price properties were sold for in the past year was £298,261 meaning there was a -£12,619 difference.

This saw the average price decrease by 4.14%.

Blundellsands/ Crosby - L23

With 60 properties sold in the area, the average asking price over the past year stood at £300,976.

The average price properties were sold for in the past year was £293,946 meaning there was a -£7,030 difference.

This saw the average price decrease by 2.36%.

Prescot - L34

With 22 properties sold in the area, the average asking price over the past year stood at £211,243.

The average price properties were sold for in the past year was £204,296 meaning there was a -£6,947 difference.

This saw the average price decrease by 3.34%.

St Michaels Hamlet - L17

With 38 properties sold in the area, the average asking price over the past year stood at £285,178.

The average price properties were sold for in the past year was £278,751 meaning there was a -£6,427 difference.

This saw the average price decrease by 2.28%.

With 5 properties sold in the area, the average asking price over the past year stood at £224,980.

The average price properties were sold for in the past year was £218,980 meaning there was a -£6,000 difference.

This saw the average price decrease by 2.70%.

Netherley - L27

With 5 properties sold in the area, the average asking price over the past year stood at £124,990.

The average price properties were sold for in the past year was £219,390 meaning there was a -£5,600 difference.

This saw the average price decrease by 4.58%.

Whiston - L35

With 38 properties sold in the area, the average asking price over the past year stood at £200,327.

The average price properties were sold for in the past year was £194,849 meaning there was a -£5,478 difference.

This saw the average price decrease by 2.77%.
