Merseyside Police officers on the Wirral have been kept busy preventing anti-social youths intent on making life a misery for residents on Mischief Night.
Officers have been out on patrol around New Ferry, Birkenhead, Beechwood, Rock Ferry, Victoria Park and Mersey Park which are known hotspots for anti-social behaviour during this time of year.
Officers have arrested a young person for causing criminal damage and assaulting an officer on duty. They have dispersed gangs and confiscated fireworks and bikes.
Wirral Merpol tweeted: "This evening we had a constant presence in #NewFerry with our mobile police station. We have seized fireworks off young people.
"A few bikes have also been booked into our property left by youngsters running away. Belong to your child? come and have a chat re their behaviour."
They added: "Non stop patrolling of #Beechwood and #North Birkenhead all evening by our officers. We have prevented many large gatherings of young people near residential properties.

"We have had foot patrols around Victoria Park and Mersey Park in #RockFerry all evening to reassure residents. 1 young person was arrested for Criminal Damage and assaulting a Police Officer.
"Patrolling will continue all weekend."
