Merseyside leisure centre reopens to public after two year pandemic closure

A Merseyside leisure centre has reopened its doors after a two-year closure.

The Oval leisure centre in Bebington was used by the NHS as a Covid Hub during the pandemic but is now welcoming back members of the public. The recent reopening of the centre has seen a brand-new pool programme introduced and swimming lessons resume.

The pool programme includes public swimming, aqua aerobics, disability sessions, adult only swim sessions, as well as the children’s swimming lessons and Adult Learn to Swim classes. The gym – open seven days a week and from 7.30am until 9pm on weekdays - is offering free inductions to all customers delivered by members of the Invigor8 gym team, who are on hand every day to provide fitness help and advice to all customers.

Gyms and public pool sessions across all Invigor8 sites are no longer available to book, meaning that people can access these facilities at any time. Pre-booking for sports facilities, lessons, activities and classes is advisable prior to arrival however customers are welcome to attend the centre to participate in an activity if space is available.

The new autumn exercise class timetables for all centres are now running and classes are available to both members and casual users. The comprehensive exercise class programme is delivered by the Invigor8 fitness team and includes a host of activities such as Zumba, Yoga, Revolutions, Running, Aqua Aerobics and Tai Chi.
