Merseyside auction selling houses for £50K

A two-bed home could be yours for as little as £50,000 when a selection of properties go to auction.

Bidding in property consultants Smith and Sons' December auction will begin on December 6, when homes from across Wirral will go under the hammer. Among them are commercial units, terraced houses and flats.

Included in the auction is a two-bedroom home in Wallasey with a minimum opening bid of £50,000. Found on Wheatland Lane in the town, the house is close to the Wirral Waters regeneration area and backs onto an open space, which has a children's playground.

The home has central heating and double glazing, as well as insulation to the front. However, it is said to be in need of decoration and upgrading, so some investment may be required.

Also available in the auction is a four-bed home in Claughton. Described as a "substantial four bedroomed family", it has three living rooms and two bathrooms.

The listing adds: "It has been modernised to a high standard with a good range of modern kitchen fittings yet retains a number of attractive original features which compliment the well proportioned rooms. There is also potential to create further space into the large roof void."

The minimum opening bid for the home is £240,000.

Chris Johnson, Auctioneer at Smith and Sons said: “The auction room typically acts as a barometer for the wider property market and in this latest auction we are seeing a large number of properties available at very attractive guides.

“The rental market is at an all-time high and for those with spare cash, now is a brilliant time to invest.

“Cost of living, inflation, interest rates etc will always affect how the market performs and inevitably we are seeing signs of a slowdown but this auction, I believe, will appeal to a wide audience as there really is something for everyone, and viewings are already underway.”
