A Merseyside animal shelter has taken inspiration from Elf on the Shelf as we countdown to Christmas.
Carla Lane Animals in Need, Melling, Liverpool, is creating a Kevin in the Kennel advent with its dogs throughout December.
Using Kevin the Christmas Carrot, a well-known member of the Aldi family, the centre hopes their advent will help raise awareness of their dogs in need.
Each day the mascot will be pictured beside a dog who is searching for a new home over the festive period.
Here’s who Kevin the Christmas Carrot has been pictured with so far:
Lola

Lola is a six-year-old Staffie who is described as being "sweet, gentle and loving."
The pooch loves to run and play in the compound but enjoys walks and is doing well with her muzzle conditioning.
The team explained that she loves her home comforts and enjoys time in the staff room or curling up in a cosy duvet.
Lola, however, does have a control order due to an incident that occurred with another dog whilst Lola was having a phantom pregnancy. But further information can be provided to any potential adopters.
Ideally Lola would need an adult only home, free of pets.
Dudley

The two-year-old has had a very difficult start in life and originally came to the centre in a very poor state back in March.
Thankfully, the Mastiff cross has came on leaps and bounds and the staff feel he is finally ready to meet his new family.
They said: "Dudley has been great with everyone of late and has overcome some reactivity issues with both dogs and people.
"He know walks well on his kumfi calmer and is a joy to walk. He loves to run and play in the compound but is also a bit of a lazy bones and we often find him snuggled up in the middle of his duvet every morning.
"He’s a joy to be around, fun and excitable, he has blossomed into such a fantastic dog."
Dudley would be best suited to an adult only home where one of the adults has either mastiff or large breed experience.
The handsome pup cannot be rehomed with other dogs or children including those that are visiting. Unfortunately Dudley cannot be homed where there are children visiting.
The team have stressed that Dudley will not be going to his new home before Christmas as any potential owners would need to create a bond with him beforehand.
Caesar

Kevin was pictured with Caesar but other reasons compared to the latter two dogs.
The carrot was snapped with the pup as he has been adopted.
The American Bulldog went more than 200 days without a single visitor but after a potential owner build a relationship with him, the seven-year-old now has a home.
A spokesperson added: "We are just in the process of putting in place all that is necessary to comply with Caesars court order and he will be off to his new home in the near future.
"We are so impressed with this boy he has really come on leaps and bounds and could only have been described as a shell of a dog when he first arrived with us after spending so long in holding kennels.
"We are so happy for you Caesar you deserve the best."
