Merseyrail worker attacked after drunk yob denied travel

A drunken thug headbutted a Merseyrail staff member after being refused travel.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers investigating the assault at Liverpool's Moorfields station have released images of two people they wish to speak with in connection with the sickening assault.

A spokesperson said: "At 10pm on Sunday, November 7, two men were refused travel by a member of rail staff for being too intoxicated to travel.

"One of the men then headbutted the member of rail staff as he tended to an injured member of the public.

"Officers believe the men in the images may have information which could assist their investigation.

"If you recognise them, or have any information, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 2100084732.

"Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
