Merseyrail has warned passengers of potential disruption over the weekend due to high temperatures.

The latest Met Office forecast states that Liverpool will hit highs of 30C on Friday (August 12) and Saturday (August 13), before dropping slightly to a high of 28C on Sunday (August 14). As a result, the rail operator has warned that services may be disrupted.

Customers have been advised to check the Merseyrail website and social media for latest service information.
