Merseyrail to put on extra early trains for the Rock n Roll Marathon 2019

More Merseyrail trains will be put on for an expected increase in passenger numbers set to attend the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Liverpool 2019.

The main event takes place on Sunday, May 26 and additional morning trains will be put on that day.

In the past, Merseyrail has run a normal service, but due to the early start of the marathon and after receiving feedback from the passengers, the rail operator has confirmed that earlier trains will run this year.

Thousands of spectators are expected to fill the streets of the city to cheer the runners on.

“These early trains will get our passengers into the city centre from across the region with plenty of time to prepare and focus on the race ahead. Best of luck to all taking part – Merseyrail are rooting for you!”
