Merseyrail are hiring and you could get free train travel

Merseyrail are hiring and one of the positions comes with free travel on their train services.

The rail network has advertised three positions on its website, which all come with attractive salaries.

The management roles begin from £28,000 to a £43,000 and are all based in Liverpool's Main House.

And on top of the competitive salaries there is also the added bonus of free rail travel with Merseyrail and other train operating companies.

Assistant Management and Systems Accountant

Merseyrail has said "the ideal candidate will take ownership of and be responsible for the maintenance of the finance systems".

The role is advertised as a permanent and full time position with a salary of £28,332.

Experience is necessary with the ideal candidate having at least three years working in a relevant position, under their belt.

On its website Merseyrail said: "Candidates should have experience of providing support beyond the numbers and considering how the financial information supplied impacts on the performance of the business as a whole.

"They should also have experience of reporting complex financial data to non-finance managers.

"The candidate should also have excellent communication skills and have experience of reporting complex financial data to non-finance managers."

Internal Audit Manager

Merseyrail is advertising for an audit manager who needs a "can do" attitude to join the team.

The position is a nine month temporary contract and comes with an attractive salary of £36,000.

But an added bonus is also the fact that the successful candidate will be entitled to free staff travel on Merseyrail and its sister companies.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years audit related experience, ideally with some experience of a regulated industry.

On its website Merseyrail said: "The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills, and possess a confident, co-operative, ‘can-do’ attitude with the ability to deliver a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes."

Successful candidates may be invited to complete an online assessment and attend a competency based interview.

The deadline for this position is April 30.

Project manager

An opportunity to become a project manager within Merseyrail has arisen.

The role is advertised as a permanent and full time role with a very enticing salary of £43,393.

Based in the Main House in Liverpool the successful candidate will have to have strong IT skills.

On its website Merseyrail said the ideal candidate will "have proven experience of delivering projects to time, scope and budget, and will have or be working towards achieving a professional project management certification."

Merseyrail added: "Self-motivation, flexibility of approach, and excellent communication / interpersonal skills are essential in order to ensure that the confidence of both customers and suppliers is maintained.

"As a Merseyrail Project Manager, you will be a natural team player, and have the ability to influence and lead others into making key decisions so that deadlines are achieved.

"You will possess a can-do attitude, and will be focused on achieving the best possible outcomes within resource constraints."
