Both Mersey Tunnels are set to close today for the Liverpool Champions League victory parade.
MerseyTravel confirmed Wallasey (Kingsway) and Birkenhead (Queensway) will shut as the route passes the entrances and exits in Liverpool.
While they will be temporary closures, the transport operator did say it would be difficult to predict exact times of closures, but confirmed the dock branch exit of the Birkenhead tunnel onto The Strand will be closed fully this afternoon for an extended period.
This will happen at some point between 2pm and 4pm.
They also said people should check MerseyTravel's official Twitter @merseytravel for the latest on the Mersey Tunnels, and stressed they would only be temporary closures to keep disruption to a minimun.
They said: "It is difficult to predict the time and duration of any closures as they will be affected by how long it takes the team bus to travel the route.
"From 9am there will be no right turn onto the Strand from the Dock Branch exit of Birkenhead (Queensway)Tunnel and the exit will be closed in the afternoon as the Strand will be closed.
"As well as cars and other vehicles, any closures will also affect the running of cross-river bus services."
They added: "If you live in Wirral, you may also want to consider the ferry as an alternative to get to and from Liverpool. 400 free car parking spaces are available at Seacombe."
River Explorer Cruises will run with the last departure from Liverpool at 2pm calling at Seacombe and Woodside.
From 3pm a cross-river service will operate between Liverpool and Seacombe around every 20 minutes. The last boat will leave Pier Head at 9:30pm.
