The Birkenhead Tunnel will close overnight for essential maintenance work.
Merseytravel has said the planned maintenance will start tonight, resulting in the Queensway tunnel's closure from 9pm today until 6.30am tomorrow.

Another night of maintenance is scheduled to start an hour earlier tomorrow evening (Tuesday 23) from 8pm, with the tunnel set to reopen again at 6.30am on Wednesday 24.
During these hours the Birkenhead tunnel will be completely closed to all traffic.
The Kingsway (Wallasey) Tunnel will remain open.
Next month, four nights of planned closures for further maintenance on the Birkenhead Tunnel will also take place.
The Birkenhead Tunnel will be closed on the following dates in March
From 9pm on Monday 15 March to 6.30am Tuesday 16 March
From 9pm on Tuesday 16 March to 6.30am Wednesday 17 March
From 9pm on Wednesday 17 March to 6.30am Thursday 18 March
From 9pm on Thursday 18 March to 6.30am Friday 19 March
