Mersey Police Dogs praised for helping to snare burglary suspects

It's been a busy 24 hours for two brave Mersey Police Dogs, with both dogs each assisting in an arrest.

PD Poppy was first to help her team, when officers set out to find a man who was wanted for a domestic burglary.

The suspect had hidden himself behind a corner couch, and was described as "confident" that officers wouldn't find him - until PD Poppy arrived on the scene.

After coming face to face with Poppy, the suspect gave in and was taken into custody.

Later on, reports of a burglary in progress came in, and PD Jurgen, his handler and other officers were quickly dispatched to the scene, arriving there within minutes.

The offenders didn't fancy their chances against PD Jurgen (@MerPolDogs)

PD Jurgen quickly made his presence known to two male suspects, who were promptly detained inside the address.

Mersey Police Dogs commented via their twitter account that the offenders "didnt fancy there chances escaping from Jurgen".
