Merger creates £27m revenue company specialising in business communications

Avoira, the Bury-headquartered business communications specialist, has completed a six-month merger programme with Yorkshire rival Rocom.

The addition of Leeds-based Rocom creates a £27m turnover business and gives Avoira clients access to a £10m inventory.

This comprises 7,000 stock lines embracing call management, audio and video-conferencing units, headsets, handsets, telephony and IT peripherals and accessories, radio, body worn cameras, mobile, public address, cabling and networking products.

Rocom, which is a leading call centre supplier, joins Avoira that was launched in July last year from the merger of Bury communications specialist Pennine, Salford audio-video experts Videonations and Bristol two-way radio firm Co-Channel.

Avoira’s managing director Andrew Roberts said: “The integration of Pennine, Videonations and Co-Channel created a vast reservoir of solutions and expertise from which our clients can draw.

“This is now supported by a first-class logistics service which will enhance our agility, allowing us to be even more responsive to client needs.”

He added that consolidation of Avoira’s four component businesses would mean the business can deliver a more fluent offer, with complementary expertise and solutions available through a single source.

“The solutions our clients seek increasingly span technological boundaries which are, in any case, becoming blurred through the convergence of technologies.

“Avoira is now best placed to serve everyone from SMEs requiring relatively straightforward communications solutions, through to major corporates looking to fulfil complex, multi-service tenders.”
