BHOPAL: Southwest monsoon has withdrawn from half of Madhya Pradesh till Saturday including parts of the Bhopal division. With this, the day and night temperatures in Bhopal and other places in the state remained slightly above the normal mark.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle said, withdrawal of monsoon on Saturday was declared from Datia, Bhind, Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Panna, Mandsaur, Ujjain, Ratlam, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore, Agar, Dewas, Shajapur, Hoshangabad, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Mandla and Dindori districts and from parts of Sagar, Rewa, Bhopal and Shahdol divisions, officials said, adding that conditions are favorable for further withdrawal of the monsoon from the state. A day earlier, withdrawal of monsoon was declared from Gwalior, Morena, Sheopurkalan and Neemuch.
The day temperature in Bhopal on Saturday was recorded at 34.1 degrees Celsius, a degree more than normal mark while night temperature in the city was 21.6 degrees Celsius, also a degree more than normal mark.
In the forecast for Bhopal on Sunday the meteorological officials said, there would be cloudy sky and mainly dry weather would prevail in the city. Day and night temperature in the city would be respectively at 34 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius while average wind speed will be 14 kilometers per hour.
In the forecast for state meteorological officials issued warning of thunder and lightning for places including Chhindwara, Betul, Khargone, Barwani and Dhar districts. The weather would largely remain dry over other places in the state, officials added.
