BHOPAL: There was a marginal dip in temperatures in some parts of the state, but still the mercury remained above normal temperature at most places including the state capital, Bhopal. The slight drop in day temperature came as a relief to the people of the state facing severe heatwave condition in the last 10 days.
This marginal drop in temperature is being attributed to western disturbances by experts. Parts of the state are still facing scorching heat with Khargone, Damoh and Khandwa districts reporting maximum day temperature of 43 degree celsius in past 24 hours.
In Bhopal, maximum temperature of 40.3 degree Celsius was registered, a nominal drop of 0.4 degree Celsius while it recorded minimum temperature of 20.6 degree Celsius a drop of 1.3 degree Celsius compared to Thursday.
Indore too recorded a drop of 0.4 degree celsius in day temperature while minimum temperature dropped by 0.2 degree Celsius. Overall maximum temperature of 39.2 degree celsius and minimum temperature of 22.4 degree celsius was reported in Indore. Met officials said the weather remained dry in the state in past 24 hours, and it is predicted to remain dry for the next 24 hours.
Met officials have predicted no or nominal change in the weather in the next 24 hours, with predicted maximum temperature to be around 41 degree Celsius and minimum temperature to be around 21 degree Celsius in the state.
