Police have confirmed a man has been arrested in connection with an assault in the Merchant City.
The attack took place on Virginia Street last August.
Police have today advised a 38-year-old man has been arrested, with the force having earlier issued an appeal for information.
A Police Scotland statement released this morning confirmed: "Police Scotland have arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with an assault which happened in August 2020.
"The incident happened between 8.25pm and 8.50pm on Monday, 17 August, 2020, on Virginia Street.
"The man has been released pending further enquiries which continue into the incident.
"The public are thanked for their assistance with our earlier appeal."
