Merchant City restaurant to serve up free dinners to Glasgow's homeless on Christmas Day

Kind-hearted staff at a Merchant City restaurant are doing a good deed on Christmas Day.

For instead of swinging open their doors to business as usual, the team at Turkiye in Candleriggs will be serving up to the city's homeless community instead.

From 11am - 1pm, the eatery will be offering festive meals to takeaway to vulnerable people.

Since launching around seven months ago, CEO Serkan Aydin and his staff have become a popular venue for foodies of Glasgow and this is their bit of giving something back to the local area.

Serkan said: "Material gain isn’t the most important for us, knowing a good deed is being carried out is.

"We are hoping lots of people come along."
