Merchant City Festival goes online ahead of post-lockdown outdoor performances

One of the city's most-loved festivals is going online for 2020.

The Merchant City Festival will be bringing some of the magic of the festival to life despite the lockdown.

A specially commissioned Surge takeover will see a whole day of free performances, music and a symposium before wrapping up with a live DJ set from Balkanarama.

The festival will feature new and established work from Scotland and further afield and will give regular Merchant City Festival visitors a flavour of the festival which was planned for 2020.

As the country starts to come out of lockdown, festival organisers and partners will be working on a series of performances to be staged in streets and venues across the city.

Until then, festival fans can enjoy Merchant City Festival online between 1pm and 12.30am on July 4/5 online.
