Mercedez-Benz, diamond rings and Rolex watches seized from criminals going up for sale in Newport

A Mercedez-Benz, diamond jewellery and property from across the globe are all up for auction for a fraction of their original price.

The collection of luxury assets seized by various government agencies form part of an Unreserved Government Auction taking place at Wilsons Auctions in Newport.

The 2018 Mercedex-Benz A250 and a 2017 Seat Leon Cupra will go under the hammer alongside high value watches including a Rolex Yachtmaster and Hublot Classic Fusion.

Bidders will also have the chance to buy an 18ct yellow gold diamond and sapphire ring, an 18ct yellow gold diamond and ruby ring, and a blue topaz brooch.

Designer clothing and footwear from Balenciaga, Versace, Giuseppe Zanotti, Gucci, Air Jordan and Moncler are also on offer.

Wilsons Auctions’ government sales coordinator Michael Streight said: "With the festive season fast approaching you don’t need to look any further than our upcoming Unreserved Government Auction.

"Offering bidders the chance to purchase luxury and designer goods, with all items unreserved, it’s a great opportunity to be one-step ahead with your Christmas shopping.

This month, part of the Government Property Auctions, Wilsons will be auctioning a selection of government instructed properties across England, Croatia as well as unreserved land with a guide price of £50,000 in Newfoundland, Canada, offering investors a development opportunity, subject to planning permission.

An 18th Century Grade II listed cottage, set in the historic village of Gayhurst, Buckinghamshire is going under the hammer with a guide price of £380,000.

Heron Cottage is a two-bedroom partially thatched, stone cottage with period features including exposed stone, beams and wood-burning stove as well as a 100ft garden with views of the countryside.
