A Mercedes van was deliberately set on fire in the road, it is suspected.
Merseyside police were called by the fire and rescue service to Lower Breck Road, at around 9.36pm on Thursday, December 15. Firefighters had put out a blaze after a Mercedes Vito went up in flames.
Emergency services closed the road and forensics investigated the vehicle within a cordon. Officers have now confirmed that they are treating the incident as suspected malicious ignition.

A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "We are investigating following reports of a vehicle fire on Lower Breck Road in Anfield last night, Thursday 15th December. We were contacted at 9.35pm following reports that a Mercedes Vito van was on fire outside a property.
"The cause of the fire is being treated as suspected malicious ignition. An investigation is underway, and house-to-house and CCTV enquiries have been carried out. Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or contact @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 22000924080."
