Edinburgh-based aviation services group John Menzies has secured one of the biggest ground handling contracts in the UK.
Under the long term deal with existing customer easyJet, Menzies will handle over 24,000 ‘turns’ - of loading, unloading and servicing an aircraft – a year.
Menzies said the contract was recognition of its “renewed and innovative approach to the relationship with easyJet”.
Karen Cox, director of ground operations & customer management centres for easyJet, said:
"Menzies have refreshed their approach to working with easyJet and recognised the need for a culture of continuous improvement. I am confident they will deliver the customer experience we desire for all our passengers passing through this key base."
Giles Wilson, who was last week confirmed as Menzies new chief executive, said: “This contract is one of the largest single ground handling contracts in the UK and I am delighted to have secured it.
"This together with other recent contract gains demonstrates that our renewed focus on our UK business is starting to pay dividends and I look forward to more progress throughout 2019."
