Aviation services group Menzies has named a Spanish executive as its new chief financial officer.
Alvaro Gomez-Reino has previously held senior financial positions at Amey, Ferrovial and Swissport where he was chief financial officer. Menzies said his “industry knowledge and sound financial background is an excellent addition to the senior team”. He will join the board on 1 December 2019. Previous chief financial officer Giles Wilson took over as chief executive of the company earlier this year.
The group also said Mervyn Walker has been promoted to chief operating officer. He will be responsible for delivery of the group’s global operations. Menzies said the two appointments have enabled it to create an executive management board responsible for the overall delivery of the group's strategy and business performance.
“Its focus will be on bringing back a customer-centric approach and becoming the provider of choice for our customers. The board will concentrate on both organic and inorganic growth and stay focused on delivering safe, secure and consistent services for our customers,” it said.
“We will deliver this focus by developing the corporate culture to recruit and retain the best team and driving sustainable returns to deliver shareholder value.”
