Robert Ménard, a founder of the Paris-based press watchdog Reporters Without Borders, is standing down as secretary-general in favour of Jean-François Julliard. Ménard has helped to build the organisation into an effective defender of journalists who are mistreated, tortured and imprisoned across the world. He was one of four French journalists who founded RWB in 1985. Julliard joined RWB in 1998. (Via Reporters without Borders)
