Two men threatened to "slice up" teens before following them down the street after a random attack on a Liverpool bus.
The thugs then spat in the face of a woman who tried to stick up for the girls who were travelling home after a shopping trip.
Nicole Powell was with two friends, travelling from Cheshire Oaks to Liverpool, on Thursday, January 23 when two men began verbally abusing her.
The 17-year-old, from Ellesmere Port, said that one of the men was staring at her and when she looked up at him he started shouting.

She told Cheshire Live: "When I looked up at him he said 'what are you looking at, you s***?'.
"I was in shock, I just looked up at him."
Nicole says she then turned away to avoid eye contact but both the men then both began shouting abuse.
After continuing to ignore them, the abuse towards Nicole and her friends became more serious.
She added: "The other man came off his phone and said 'so who are we slicing up here?'.
"I started to become scared at this point, then I looked behind to see if they were sat in the same seats and he said 'I’ll drag you up and down this bus right here, right now'."
A woman moved closer to the girls to confront the men but Nicole said they just started to abuse her too.
She said: "The woman said to the men 'how dare you speak to these girls like this it’s so disrespectful' but they then started hurling abuse and making threats to her."

A short time later Nicole, her friends and the woman who intervened got off at their stop in Ellesmere Port, thinking the men were staying on the X1 Stagecoach service to Liverpool.
They weren't aware until the shouting started again that the two men had actually been kicked off the bus by the driver.
Nicole said: "As far as we knew they (the men) were going to Liverpool so we thought we would be okay.
"So, I am surprised the Stagecoach driver was willing to let the men off the same stop as us knowing it was dark and we were alone."
After Nicole and her friends separated to go home, the two men began following one of the girls and continued to abuse her.
Nicole said: "She ran home in a panic and after she did that they turned to go to the train station where they then bumped into the woman who helped us."
The men reportedly spat in the woman's face before running off.
She added: "It was a very scary thing to go through. But all the men did was make everyone on the bus realise what poor excuses of men they are."
Nicole has reported the incident to Stagecoach and has also issued a complaint following the driver's actions.
Stagecoach have said they are investigating the incident.
A Stagecoach spokesperson said: “We are aware of an incident on one of our buses travelling from Cheshire Oaks to Liverpool last week.
"The safety and wellbeing of all our passengers is our top priority and we are reviewing CCTV footage and will be looking into the incident.”
