
NARATHIWAT: Two men were shot dead by intruders while visiting a friend at his home in Bacho district late on Thursday night.
The fatal attack occurred at a single-storey house in Palukapaeror village in tambon Palukasamae, said Pol Capt Akkhadet Dindaen, deputy investigation chief at Palukasamae police station.
The shooting was reported around 11pm.
Police sent to the scene reported finding two men lying dead in pools of blood inside the house.
The victims - Mahamadsabkree Sasuemae, 33, of Pattani’s Sai Buri district; and Arsuwan Yoding, 30, of Pattani’s Mai Kaen district - were both shot in head. The killers used shotguns, he said.
House owner Rormuelee Jaeba told police that he was outside, behind the house, when the attack occurred. His two friends were watching TV inside. He heard a group of men enter his house, followed by gunfire. The gunmen then fled.
He ran to see what happened and found his friends lying dead on the floor.
Pol Capt Akkhadet said one of the victims had a criminal record of involvement in the illicit drug trade. Police were investigating.
