Men's T20 World Cup in 2024 scheduled for June 4 to 30 in West Indies and USA: Report

Ten venues across the Caribbean islands and USA are likely to host the 2024 men's T20 World Cup in a new format from June 4 to 30, says a report on the website ESPNcricinfo.com.

According to the report, Lauderhill in Florida, which will also host the fourth and fifth T20Is of India's ongoing tour of the West Indies, is among the US venues shortlisted and inspected by the International Cricket Council (ICC) recently.

However, a joint decision on the final list of venues will be taken later by the ICC, USA Cricket and Cricket West Indies.

As of now, the Major League Cricket's inaugural season is being hosted at two venues in Morrisville's Church Street Park and the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. However, none of those yet enjoy the official status of an international venue.

The report also suggests that the 2024 T20 World Cup will have 20 teams and divided into four groups. The teams finishing among the top two in each group will go through to the 'Super 8' stage, which will again have two groups of four each. The top two teams from those two groups will reach the semifinals.
