MUMBAI: The Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane, which used to stage Ranji Trophy matches in the '90s, will host a senior men’s domestic game after a gap of almost 25 years, when a few games of the Vijay Hazare Trophy will be held in December.
With the stadium having been completely renovated in the last couple of years, the Mumbai Cricket Association had last year held a four-day Under-23 CK Nayudu Trophy match between Mumbai and Bengal, followed by 12 games of the women’s senior one-day championship.
“The credit for the Thane stadium’s refurbishment should go to Eknath Shinde and Thane mayor Naresh Mhaske,” said a source in the MCA.
