A car was reportedly 'set alight' in the middle of a day by a biker seen pouring petrol inside it at a car park.
Emergency services were rushed to the scene after reports of a car on fire at approximately 12:17pm on September 2.
Once at the scene in Norris Green, Liverpool, fire fighters found a car engulfed in flames in the car park nearby to shops, including an Iceland supermarket.
Liverpool Echo reports that a crew from one fire engine tackled the blaze and were able to extinguish the fire.
Fire crews then handed the incident over to Merseyside Police.
A witness, who wishes to remain anonymous, stated they saw men riding a motorbike pouring petrol inside the car and setting it alight.
They said: "Some guys were on a motorbike smashed the windows and put petrol inside it and set it alight."
A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson told the ECHO: "Firefighters were called to Broad Lane, Norris Green, on Thursday 2nd September, following reports of a car on fire.
"Crews were alerted at 12.17pm and on scene at 12.23pm. One fire engine attended.
"On arrival crews found a car fully involved in fire in the car park of the market.
"Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
"Fire crews handed the incident over to Merseyside Police and left the scene at 1.04pm."
