Detective Sergeant Nick Wood, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a nasty incident and our investigation is ongoing to understand the circumstances of what took place.

“We believe there were other people in the street at the time and we’re urging them to please come forward if they saw what happened. We’re also urging anyone who may have captured CCTV, mobile phone or dash-cam footage to get in touch with us.”

Two suspects, aged 33 and 38, were arrested on suspicion of affray.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 857 of 7 July, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
