Men in Scream masks set fire to pub full of customers

A Yorkshire pub full of customers was set alight by two men in “Scream” masks who poured “accelerant” in the premises before setting it ablaze and fleeing the scene.

Drinkers in the at the Bay Horse pub in Knottingley, West Yorkshire managed to escape unharmed on Tuesday evening but police say the building sustained “significant damage”, according to the BBC.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed the fire had been extinguished but are now looking for any information as to the identity of the attackers.

Det Insp Viv Segerius-Allick, said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who has witnessed this incident or who has information about who may be responsible. They have caused significant damage to this public house and put a number of lives at risk.

"We understand that people may have mobile footage of the aftermath of this incident and we would urge them to provide this to us to assist detectives in their ongoing enquiries.”

She stressed that incidents such as this are “extremely rare” and said the police neighbourhood teams would increase patrols of the area to reassure people.

One of the suspects is described as about 5ft8 and wore a hoodie and a mask. The other man was slightly taller.
