Three men end up in court after fight in a bar following their grandma's funeral

Three men must do community work after trouble in a bar following their grandmother's funeral.

A woman had hair pulled out while a man was left with two chipped teeth, a city court heard.

Deputy District Judge Michelle Jeffreys watched CCTV of the incident and told the trio: "Your grandmother would not be proud of you.

"People in whichever city should be allowed to go about their business or in evenings enjoying themselves in public houses without anything like this."

Violence broke out in the Revolution bar on Broad Street at 11.15pm on May 9, said Rosanna McDaid, prosecuting at Nottingham Magistrates' Court.

There was "a verbal argument" before punches were thrown and one person was headbutted, added Miss McDaid.

Charges of threatening behaviour were admitted Oliver Britt, 19, of Mountfield Drive, Nottingham; Liam King, 28, of Dale Close, West Bridgford; Alix Thomasen, 26, of Shellburne Close, Nottingham.

Nadir Prabatani, who represented all three, said that some people who were never charged were "agent provocateurs."

He told the court: "All three men are related and attended their grandmother's funeral.

"This is a fight involving alcohol and in a public house. All accept their behaviour was unacceptable.

"There are clearly agent provocateurs. The young lady starts the fight and there was the throwing around of verbal abuse."

Britt was ordered to do 60 hours community work and pay £170 costs. King must do 100 hours and pay £250 compensation to an injured man as well as £170 costs.

Thomasen must pay £100 to the woman and carry out 100 hours work.
