Men in black firebomb Glasgow house leaving middle-aged woman 'petrified' for her life

A woman was left "petrified" after two men tried to firebomb her Glasgow home.

Police launched an investigation after the pair dressed in black tossed the blazing bottles through a window at the Shettleston house shortly after 6pm on Saturday.

The middle-aged woman was standing outside having a cigarette when the terrifying drama unfolded.

She managed to run to safety through the house and out a rear door, the Daily Record reports.

And while uninjured, it's understood she is now in fear for her life.

A source told the Record: "Two petrol bombs hit the house around 6.20pm on Saturday night.

"Two men dressed in all black wearing face coverings and covid masks, they walked by the house when she was standing outside having a fag at her door.

"One of them lit a glass bottle and the other must have as well as two bottles got thrown through the window.

"It burnt all the front of the house.

"She managed to run through the house and get out the backdoor. She is petrified.

"They don't know if its a case of mistaken identity. She's a middle-aged woman - they don't know who would want to do that."

Police confirmed they were probing the incident after reports of a deliberate fire.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.35pm on Saturday, 13 February, 2021, emergency services were called to the Kilmany Gardens area of Glasgow, following reports of a wilful fire.

"No one was injured in the incident and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

"Enquiries are ongoing."

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
