Men hit with baseball bat, chair and bottle in brutal street attack

Two men were hit with a baseball bat, a chair and a bottle in a street attack.

Merseyside Police said the frightening assault took place on Monday, April 27, at about 9.25pm in Fairfield.

The force said at first one man was attacked before he was later set upon by a group when he was with another man.

He was walking along Rawlins Street, close to the junction of Edge Grove, when first hit.

Police said the victim had stones thrown at him by an unknown man.

Later that evening, in the same area, he was with another man and they were confronted by four males and attacked.

It is believed the four men used weapons including a baseball bat, a chair and a bottle.

One of the men suffered a cut to his ear and the second suffered swelling to his face and head including a chipped tooth during the assault.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or thinks they may have captured it on dashcam or CCTV footage is asked to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 20000244402.
