Men flee after Land Rover 'takes out entire wall' near Indian takeaway

Three men ran away from the scene after a Land Rover crashed into a wall near an Indian takeaway.

Witnesses described seeing a large police presence on Kew Road in Southport i n the early hours of Friday after the crash. Merseyside Police said they were called to the area at around 11.50pm on Thursday to reports of a crash on Eastbourne Road and Kew Road.

Photos show the damage caused to the maroon coloured Land Rover which was left smashed up and abandoned outside Khan's Kitchen - an Indian takeaway on the road. Police said three men, aged between 20 and 30, ran off in the direction of Cemetery Road.

One man told the ECHO the car had "taken out the whole wall" and also caused damage to a BMW. Police are now appealing for anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

A police spokesperson said: "We received a report around 11.50pm last night of a crash on Eastbourne Road and Kew Road. It was reported three males crashed into a wall and then made off towards Cemetery Road. "
