Men flee after car smashes through car park wall

Two men are said to have fled the scene after a car smashed through the wall of a car park in Greasby.

Police received a call at 7.15pm yesterday that a Honda Civic had crashed with a wall on Barnston Lane in Greasby, Wirral.

A dramatic picture obtained by the ECHO shows the silver Honda having smashed over the wall of the raised car park and onto the road.

Police said the driver of the car had left the scene before officers arrived and that the car has now been recovered as the investigation continues.

An eyewitness to the incident said: “I was stood in the opposite car park.

“It [the car] just came crashing through the wall and two lads got out quick and ran”.

No further description of the driver or passenger has yet been provided.

“We were called at 7.15pm last night, Tuesday 7th July, to reports that a Honda Civic had been in collision with a wall on Barnston Lane in Wirral.

“The driver of the car had left the scene before officers arrived. The car has been recovered and enquiries are being carried out.”
