Men charged with violent disorder outside Suites Hotel named

Five people have been charged after disorder outside Knowsley's Suites Hotel earlier this year.

Merseyside Police carried out a number of raids in Kirkby and Croxteth yesterday, Thursday, May 18, as part an ongoing operation following disorder outside the hotel in Knowsley. At around 6.30pm on Friday, February 10, officers attended an initially peaceful protest and counter protest outside the Suites Hotel on Ribblers Lane.

During the evening, missiles were thrown towards officers and damage was caused to police vehicles. One officer was injured and taken to hospital. Police said the warrants carried out today ongoing operation to bring those involved to justice and prevent further incidents of disorder and crime.

On Thursday, six warrants were executed as part an ongoing operation to prevent further incidents of disorder and crime, police said and seven people were arrested. Five people have since been charged following the incidents outside the Suites Hotel.

Warren Cullen, aged 20 of James Holt Avenue, Westvale in Kirkby, who was later charged with violent disorder and two counts of possession of Class B drugs. Liam Jones, aged 25 of Birkin Close in Kirkby, Harry Boynton, aged 19 and two teenage boys aged 13 and 14 from Kirkby were all charged with violent disorder.

All five have been conditionally bailed. They will appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, June 20.
