Men charged over two separate Adelaide shootings

Police at the scene of the shooting on Seaview Road, West Beach.

A man accused of shooting a fisherman in the leg at West Beach last night has been remanded in custody.

Police said a 35-year-old man was wounded after he was shot in the leg at about 8:30pm on Seaview Road.

He remains in the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

William Cowling, 36, has been charged with his attempted murder as well as firearms offences.

He faced the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court this afternoon and made no application for bail and will face court again in May.

Separately, a 38-year-old man was expected to front the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today, charged with acts likely to cause harm and discharging a firearm in a public place another after allegedly shooting a man in the chest in an apparent street fight in Adelaide's north.

Police were called to Alberta Drive in Burton just before midnight on Saturday.

The victim was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital and was discharged a short time later.

Police say another person might have been injured during the incident, but no-one has come forward.

A neighbour said he was in bed when he heard multiple loud bangs.

"I thought it was a firecracker out the front of the house," he said.

"I came outside, I heard a girl screaming and I've come out and there was three of them lying on the road — [one] had fallen off a motorbike, and all trying to fight.

"One of the guys just got up and stepped back and pulled out, picked up something off the ground, and I didn't know what it was and I was walking up to help and it was a gun.

"He pointed it at the other guy and that's when I just turned around.

"The kids were all asleep in the lounge so I grabbed them and took them down to the other end of the house."
