Men arrested in connection with Cumbernauld shooting that left innocent dog dead

Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting that left an innocent dog dead.

Police have arrested two 23-year-old men following the incident that took place in Cumbernauld on January 23.

A 27-year-old man suffered injuries to his back and a 52-year-old woman, who had been walking her dog, was caught up in the incident in Brunswick Gardens around 6.55pm.

The woman's dog, a white Maltichon called Henry, died after being hit by a stray bullet.

The men have been charged and reported to the Procurator Fiscal and will appear at court at a later date.

Police Scotland says the enquiries remain ongoing.
