Men armed with gun and knife raid newsagents in Middleton

Two men armed with a gun and a knife threatened staff during a robbery at a newsagents in Middleton.

The pair stormed into the McColl's store on Kenyon Lane at 9.40am, before ordering staff to hand over cash.

They then left in a white three door Audi A1 with money and items from behind the tills.

The robbery happened on Sunday, May 19.

No one was physically injured but staff were left 'understandably shaken'.

Police are appealing for information about the incident.

The offenders are both described as white, and in their early to mid 20s.

The first man wore a black hoodie with grey sleeves and a large white Nike Air logo down the back.

The second wore a navy hoodie with navy trousers and dark coloured trainers.

Anyone with information is asked to call 0161 856 4640, quoting incident number 726 of May 19.
