Men accused of murdering Leeds dad Christopher Lewis due to stand trial next week

The men accused of murdering Leeds dad Christopher Lewis are expected to stand trial next week.

Steven Mark Grey, 38, of Town Street, Armley, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Mr Lewis, who died after he was shot outside his mother's home Chapeltown, last year.

Denzil Brown, 49, of Park Field Court, Morley, and Jonathan Gledhill, 37, of Dib Lane, Roundhay, have also been charged with murder but are yet to enter pleas.

Their trial is due to begin at Leeds Crown Court on Monday, June 3.

Owen Clarke, 27, Lewis Pearce, 26, and Denzil Wharton-Browne, 24, are due to join them in the dock, as they have been charged with allegedly assisting two of the alleged murderers.

Clarke is accused of transporting Grey and Gledhill from Chapeltown and making arrangements for Pearce to transport Grey from Oakwood.

Pearce is accused of transporting Grey from Oakwood.

During their last crown court appearance, Clarke, of Haw Avenue in Yeadon, and Pearce, formerly of Chapeltown, both pleaded not guilty to assisting an offender.

Wharton-Browne, of Oaklands Crescent in Gipton, did not enter a plea. He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and nationality.

Brown, Gledhill and Wharton-Browne are due to enter pleas on Monday.
