Memories and the menu from one of Dublin's favourite 90s restaurants - The Chicago Pizza Pie Factory

The capital has lost its fair share of iconic eateries over the years. We decided to take a look back at one of Dublin city centre's former restaurants to relive its fond memories.

St Stephen's Green used to be home to The Chicago Pizza Pie Factory, serving the infamous windy city-style pizza to Dubliners.

Those who were lucky enough to have paid the restaurant a visit when it was open would have spent many special occasions here like birthday celebrations or catching up with friends after work.

While Gary Perry was going through an old cookbook, he discovered a copy of the restaurant's menu from the Irish Punt era and uncovered a treasure chest of memories.

Not only was the restaurant renowned for their pizza, but many people will also vividly remember their garlic bread; 'it speaks for itself' and still miss its taste to this day. At only 2.25 Irish pounds we miss those prices too!

Word has it that their cocktails were a great compliment to the deep dish pizza. Especially on Friday evenings in the 1990s from 5 pm to 7 pm when happy hour was in full swing. If you had room for dessert, the mud pie was a firm favourite.

Not only was it a reliable place for tasty food, but the former restaurant was a popular destination thanks to its lively atmosphere, with the staff known for hopping on the bar counter to dance to 'The Time Warp'.

Sadly, the restaurant closed its door in the late 90s and has been missed by many ever since.
