A memorial run to mark the 16th birthday of tragic Liam McGhee took place at Kilmarnock's Howard Park at the weekend.
Liam’s family were left heartbroken last August when he took his own life – and the run was a way of mum Jacqueline creating something positive following his death.

It would have been Liam’s 16th birthday today and the well-attended charity 5k was a true celebration of his life.
On the day, those taking part didn’t let the rain and high winds get in the way as they signed up at Kilmarnock’s Rock Diner before setting off from the Howard Park and then heading back to the Rock Diner for music and drinks and “an event to remember.”
The charity fundraiser generated cash for Beautiful Inside and Out and Jacqueline has confirmed the amount gathered will be revealed at the start of April.
Beautiful Inside and Out was set up by Pauline Moriarty following the death of her daughter Jenna, who also took her own life. The charity supports those affected by suicide – especially youngsters.

Taking to social media after the event, proud Jacqueline said: “Thank you so much to each and every person who attended Liam’s charity run and night, it was an amazing turnout.
“My heart is bursting with pride, I’m so proud to be Liam McGhee’s mummy.”
