Memorial bench for Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison vandalised

A memorial bench created in memory of Frightened Rabbit's frontman Scottish Hutchison has been vandalised.

The bench, which is located in Kelvingrove Park, was dedicated to the singer, who tragically took his own life in May, sending shockwaves through the music industry, after a long battle with mental health issues.

The bench was first unveiled in the west end park in December last year at the top of the grassy slope. It bore a silver plaque engraved with 'A Wee Bench For Scott' and a lyric from song The Oil Slick: "We've still got hope, so I think we'll be fine."

Now, a public Facebook group in memory of Scott discovered the vandalism. The silver plaque has been removed from the bench.

Many people have already announced that they will donate money to ensure that a replacement is made as soon as possible.

The memorial bench was first created after a fundraiser to raise £1,500 was set up. It led to more than £8,800 being raised by fans.
