Member of the public 'concerned' after capturing face of ghost peering through door at Irish castle

A member of the public was 'concerned' after capturing what appears to be the face of ghost peering through a door at an Irish castle.

The creepy image was snapped at Merlin Castle in Co Galway and shows what looks like a man's face reflected on a door.

They sent the photo to Paranormal Supernatural Investigations Ireland who went to the castle themselves to take another look at the door.

However, in the second picture the man's face was nowhere to be seen.

Taking to Facebook, the group shared the two images side-by-side writing: "Last night we had a member of the public who sent us a picture that they had taken of Merlin Castle, Co. Galway.

"Upon close inspection of the picture, the person was very concerned of what they had captured. As we are based not far from Merlin Castle we went to see if we could get the same image. Picture 2 is our photo that we had taken."

People took to the comments to question what they were seeing, with one person writing: "Is that a face on the door handle??"

Paranormal Supernatural Investigations Ireland replied: "Yes it looks like it."

However, one person remained more sceptical, writing: "It looks photo shopped."

The group defended the picture, writing: "Bring it to someone and have it checked out bud let us know how you get on."

Merlin Castle is located on the outskirts of Galway City, just 4km from the centre.

It was originally the site of a castle built in the 12th century for the High King of Ireland, Turlough O’Connor, but the structure we see today dates from the 16th century.
