Member of staff at Nottingham city centre restaurant Hooters tests positive for Covid-19

A Nottingham restaurant has closed after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus.

Bosses at the only UK Hooters restaurant, based in London Road, confirmed that the team member is now self-isolating.

As well as serving up American grill-style food, there is also regular sports coverage shown in the venue.

It is most commonly known for its servers, known as Hooters girls.

In a statement on Facebook, they said: "To all our customers, a member of our team has tested positive for Covid and is now self-isolating as per government guidelines.

“Therefore, today we’ve made the decision to close the restaurant to the public as a precaution for the safety of our staff and customers.

“Apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for understanding during this difficult time.”
