A member of the Hutch family was rushed to hospital this afternoon after an incident at a house.
It is understood that the man was unresponsive when emergency services arrived and CPR was then attempted on him.
He was quickly taken to the Mater Hospital with what are described as serious injuries at 4.15pm today.
Gardai are investigating the incident.
A Garda spokeswoman said: "Gardai and emergency services attended an incident at a house in the Drumalee area off North Circular Rd, Dublin 7, today the 16 July 2019 at approximately 4.15pm.
"A man was taken to the Mater Hospital with serious injuries.
"Investigations are ongoing."
