
Melvin Gordon has switched his allegiance from the Los Angeles Chargers to the Denver Broncos. Going from one AFC West team to another means he will face the Bolts twice a season. It also means he joins a team that has had many running backs who have had 1,000-yard seasons. A high bar for Gordon, who has one 1,000-yard season to his credit, to maintain.
C.J. Anderson

In 2017, C.J. Anderson rushed for 1,007 yards on 245 carries. He also scored three rushing touchdowns.
Mike Anderson (2 1,000-yard seasons)

Mike Anderson was selected in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. The former Utah star averaged 5.0 yards per carry while rushing for 1,487 yards as a rookie. He also rushed for 1,014 yards in 2005.
Otis Armstrong (2)

Otis Armstrong came to the Broncos from Purdue. He was a first-round choice, ninth overall in 1973. Armstrong had two 1,000-yard seasons, rushing for 1,407 yards in 1974 and 1,008 yards in ’76. Overall, Armstrong rushed for 4,453 yards with Denver.
Tatum Bell

The Broncos took Tatum Bell from Oklahoma State in the second round of the 2004 draft. The Cowboy from Stillwater rushed for 1,025 yards in 2006. His career totaled 2,591 yards with the Orange Crush.
Reuben Droughns

Reuben Droughns came to the Broncos from the Lions. He rushed for 25 yards in his first two seasons with Denver, However, he rushed for 1,240 yards and scored six touchdowns in 2004. He was off to Cleveland the next year and he rushed for 1,232 yards as a Brown.
Terrell Davis (4)

The great Terrell Davis came to the Broncos as a sixth-round pick out of Georgia. Knee injuries shortened his career but not before he had four 1,000-yard seasons, including a three-year run from 1996-98 that went 1,538-1,750-2,008. The Hall of Famer finished with 7,607 yards rushing.
Olandis Gary

Olandis Gary was a fourth-round pick out of Georgia. His best season with Denver was 1999, when as a rookie he ran for 1,159 of the 1,614 yards he would accumulate as a Bronco.
Gaston Green

Gaston Green came to Denver from the Rams and UCLA. The star Bruins running back had his best season in 1991 when he rushed for 1,037 yards with Denver. He added 648 in 1992.
Bobby Humphrey (2)

Bobby Humphrey was drafted by the Broncos from Alabama. He ran for 1,151 yards as a rookie and followed it up with 1,202 yards in 1990. Those were by far his best NFL seasons.
Phillip Lindsay (2)

Phillip Lindsay has proven to be a great find for Denver. The undrafted free agent from Colorado has rushed for 1,037 yards and 1,011 yards, respectively, in his first two seasons as a Bronco. He makes for an interesting backfield mate with Gordon.
Floyd Little

Floyd Little played his entire career with Denver after going to Syracuse. He rushed for 6,323 yards in 117 games with 1,133 in 1971 being his top season.
Knowshon Moreno

Another running back from Georgia to do well with the Broncos was Knowshon Moreno. A first-round pick in 2009, Moreno ran for 1,038 yards in 2013.
Willis McGahee

Willis McGahee overcame knee injuries while in college at Miami to have a strong NFL career. McGahee rushed for 1,000 yards in a season with three teams. The final time was in 2011 as a Bronco when he ran for 1,199 yards.
Clinton Portis (2)

Clinton Portis ran for 3,099 yards in his two seasons as a Denver Bronco. He had 1,508 as a rookie and followed with 1,591 before being traded to Washington. Portis finished his career with 9,923 yards.
Sammy Winder

Sammy Winder came to the Broncos from Southern Miss. He ran for 1,153 yards in his third season with Denver after totaling less than that in his first two seasons combined.
