A Melbourne man has been stabbed several times during a burglary, leaving him hospitalised with life-threatening injuries.
The 53-year-old is understood to have disturbed an unknown woman after she entered an address at The Strand in Williamstown about 1.30am on Thursday.
The woman stabbed the man multiple times before fleeing, Victoria Police say.
Police have set up a crime scene and closed The Strand between Mariner and Stanley Streets.
