Melbourne man arrested after Melton death

A man has been arrested following the death of another man in Melbourne's west last week. (AAP)

A man is in custody after a body was discovered last week in suburban Melbourne.

Victoria Police said the homicide squad arrested him at Melbourne's Docklands on Monday afternoon.

Police had made a public appeal on Friday as they searched for the 30-year-old from suburban Delahey, saying he was a person of interest in the investigation.

It follows the death of Shane Cox, 39, whose body was found last Wednesday in Melton, in the city's west.
