Mock draft season is winding down but there are still a few to be had. ESPN’s Mel Kiper and Todd McShay, who typically each do their own mock drafts, now teamed up and alternated selections for three rounds.
For the Arizona Cardinals, they mock two Oklahoma players in their three picks at the top of the rounds.
Round 1: Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray

Murray is almost, at this point, a consensus pick for the Cardinals, despite having drafted Josh Rosen No. 10 overall a year ago. McShay makes this pick for the Cardinals and writes this:
The NFL’s worst offense in 2018 needs serious renovations. Buckle up for the explosive playmaking of Murray in Kliff Kingsbury’s offense.
An exciting player in an exciting offense. That is what the hope is, even with expected rookie struggles.
Round 2: Temple CB Rock Ya-Sin

McShay again picked for the Cardinals and takes Ya-Sin, despite a receiver like N’Keal Harry still on the board.
Robert Alford is currently penciled in as the starter opposite Patrick Peterson, but the depth is weak here. We got our new QB in the first round to restructure the passing offense, so let’s keep that passing defense sturdy.
This is a reasonable pick, though where Ya-Sin falls in the draft will be telling.
Round 3: Oklahoma G Dru Samia

McShay again makes the pick and wants protection for Murray. Samia did that in college.
This is a great way to kick off Round 3. There’s no shot that I’m spending the No. 1 pick on a 5-foot-10 QB and then not getting him some protection.
